H2020 project "AtlantOS", 29 Nov - 1 Dec 2016 workshop of The workshop, held at the IO PAN in Sopot brought together 15 experts (and two remote participants) in biogeochemical observations and modelling from several countries around the Atlantic: Brazil,United States, Norway, Ireland, United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Germany and Poland. Comparing the targets developed during this workshop with the current observing capabilities will enable a comprehensive gap analysis (as part of AtlantOS Task 1.2) aimed at providing recommendations for designing optimized and enhanced Atlantic Ocean observing system.

The EurOcean, European Centre for Information on Marine Science and Technology, 16th Steering Committee Meeting was held at IO PAN. The Steering Committee, composed of the members from fourteen European institutions, set up the plan for the activity for the next year. AEI Tèxtils , together with the Packaging cluster , and the collaboration of LEITAT Technological Center, has initiated, PACTEX project (cofunded by the Catalan Waste Agency ) which falls inside the EC Circular Economy Strategy taken to the local/regional level. The project aims to establish synergies between the companies of both clusters (textile+packagint) and foster among them the effective use of material resources by reducing industrial waste at source, reuse products, improving recyclability and recovery of waste. Cool Silicon will start in 2017 with the internationalisation of its cluster, thanks to winning a grant by the German Ministry of Science. The project named iCool will deal not only with the development of an internationalisation strategy, but also with the development of new services for its members with regard to innovation management, research and international collaboration. Furthermore, at least 3 projects will be developed with international partners. While the German partners will get up to 3 million Euro from the German funding agency, a respective amount of funding is expected also by the international partners...

Since its creation in 2005, the cluster fosters cooperation between France and Japan in textiles . 2016 was no exception. As part of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2014 by the French and Japanese ministries of economy, the Japan Chemical Fibers Association, and by TECHTERA, the cluster set up new actions for the textile industry between the two countries: • January 2016: Organisation of a collective mission with a focus on business and research . 6 French companies travelled to Japan in order to discover the Japanese markets of Health, Sports and Wellbeing. 3 of them now share a common business development...
