iCool - "Meet the Dutch!"- Cool Silicon meets up with Dutch economic delegation in Jena

Submitted by Stefan Uhlig on 09 February 2017

On February 9th, Cool Silicon attended the  Dutch economic mission directed by the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Lilianne Ploumen at the Fraunhofer Institute of Applied Optics and Precision Engineering (IOF) and at the Leibnitz Institute of Photonic Technology (IPhT) in Jena, respectively.

During very interesting company presentations and matchmakings, innovative German and Dutch companies, research institutes and governmental institutions got the chance to exchange ideas and get to know each other better in individual talks.

Cool Silicon in particular looked for potential cooperation partners from the Netherlands to be involved in the technical projects for our internationalization project iCool. The internationalization intention of Cool Silicon aroused reasonable interest among the Dutch companies, universities and governmental representatives. Especially, the communication with the cluster representatives from Business Cluster Semiconductors Netherlands (BCS) and Brainport Industries as well as from TNO (Netherlands Organisation for applied scientific research) and the Delft University of Technology was very promising.

Finally, the reception of the Dutch royal couple, Willem-Alexander and Maxima, during the companies’ exhibition was a honor and highlight to all participants of the event.

We are looking forward to foster the cooperation and match the interests of SMEs from the Netherlands with our members during the next event: High-Tech Systems 2017 on 16 March in Eindhoven.Cluster representative Mr. Uhlig during a B2B
