Submitted by Ander González on 05 December 2016

On November 16, two energy market reports, from Chile and Mexico, were presented at the Smart Grids Basque Country booth at the EUW 2016 in Barcelona. Both presentations were attended by more than 15 European companies and institutions present at the fair. These reports have been produced within the European REINA PLUS project, in which the Basque Energy Cluster is collaborating with 3 other European clusters with which it has established a European Strategic Cluster Partnership (ESCP-4i).

These market reports focus on the possibilities offered by both the Mexican and Chilean markets in the field of electric grids and renewable energy sector. Both documents include a review of each country's regulatory framework, its energy situation and an energy sector analysis, with particular emphasis on electric grids.

These presentations were attended by more than 15 companies and research entities. Following them, the Target Market Group Meeting (TMGM) of Chile was held, in which the participants exchanged experiences and visions about the Chilean market.

Smart Grid Canada's Director, Iualana Calin, then gave a presentation on the smart grid market in Canada and the energy situation in the United States, followed by a meeting between European and Canadian companies. The REINA PLUS and Smart Grids Canada clusters agreed to maintain contacts to explore possible business or technological collaborations.
