Building Cities' Resilience: Mobilising the Local Ecosystems

The European Commission hosted a webinar on "Building cities' resilience: mobilising the local economy" on Wednesday, 15 April 2020. During this Webinar, the Commission provided an overview of the latest responses to the COVID-19 crisis. Two representatives of the cities of Amsterdam and Barcelona also offered insights about present effective city-led interventions. Furthermore, the participants looked at the role of the social economy and bottom-up approaches in the fight against COVID-19.

This webinar is part of a series of webinars organised to help cities exchange best practices and learn from each other, in terms of short-, medium- and long-term responses, including post-corona recovery. The focus of the series is in particular the role of technology in responding to the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
