Cluster Strategy
Mission/Objectives:

The Marche Region has joined the S3 national strategy by identifying strategic areas for  the regional technological development. From this analysis Associazione Cluster Marche Manufacturing has been set up.

Marche Manufacturing Cluster Association (MMCA) is a public-private partnership composed of different subjects, Universities, Research Institutes and Local Companies mainly. They cooperate and work together to collect and study the needs of the manufacturing production, which is always more oriented towards a smart, mechanized, efficient, eco- friendly and people-oriented cooperation. It was officially set up in July 2013, with the aim of connecting the local production needs with the policies of our Region, the Marche, to support innovation, research and development.

Twinning Action: call for Twinning within the Spreading excellence and widening participation programme, aims to nurture links between Slovenia, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Spain in key areas around the Sustainable Built Environment.

European programme COSME: COSME  will fund guarantees and counter-guarantees for financial intermediaries (e.g. guarantee organisations, banks, leasing companies) to help them provide more loan and lease finance to SMEs. This facility will also include the securitisation of SME debt-finance portfolios.By sharing the risk, the COSME guarantees will allow financial intermediaries to expand the range of SMEs and types of financial transactions they can support

EIT Manufacturing: Kic Added Value Manufacturing: The KIC on Added-Value Manufacturing will offer a pan-European platform to accelerate the innovation process and strengthen the European industrial base in terms of its manufacturing capacity. The four Strategic Priorities of KIC AVM are: Innovation-driven Manufacturing, Human-centred Manufacturing, Knowledge-based Manufacturing, and Sustainable Manufacturing. These will be addressed by appropriate supporting activities executed through the establishment of strong partnerships inside and outside of the KIC AVM and by operating a KIC AVM Company with a lean management structure able to guarantee sustainability and efficient operation.

Interreg programme: MEdInno, Grennomed, Innolitter: Projects for the European Territorial Cooperation in the MED area

I4MS, ICT Innovation for Manufacturing SME's: The project aims to digitalise manufacturing, creating a link between new and old actors in order to adapt and create successful business models. Therefore the project will achieve the revitalization of vocational manufacturing sectors i.e. footwear and the diversification into new field i.e. mechatronics, home automation, wellness industry. This change will be guarantee through the use of robotics and HpC. From the I4MS the cluster join the partnership of Fortissimo and partcipated with two associate members in the call Fortissimo 2 and Fortissimo 3.

SME Instrument is a programme dedicated to sme's to boost and improve their innovation. The programme will guarantee financial support to innovative sme's that have a new product, process or service with a huge potential market.

Fast Track to Innovation: The Cluster has accompanied a company across the subservience of the Fast Track to Innovation project. Fast track are projects coordinated by a consortium of company, composed by large industries, sme's and reserach centers for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 actors located in different European countries. The aim is to develop a new product or process that will faster achieve the market.

Eranet: Manunet. Manunet is a call inside the ERANET program, which will foster the competitiveness of Europe’s Manufacturing Industry by co-funding manufacturing research projects performed by enterprises (preferably SMEs) and their strategic partners. The funding objectives of the call are transnational application oriented and high risk R&D projects related to Manufacturing.

    Success Story / Achievements:

Manufacturing plays a leading role on the international scene. The aim of sustainable manufacturing is to create products that minimize negative environmental impact, preserve energy and natural resources; they are safe for employees or communities and are economically sound.

These products are a mix of eco-design, technology, personalization, tradition, valorisation of Made in Italy and people oriented.

They are unique, i.e. they represent the “optimum” for the manufacturing thanks to different factors, such as industrial tradition, manufacturing culture, image, reputation, territorial organisation, presence of universities and research institutes.

The mission is to promote, actuate and improve a strategy of innovation and research. This strategy contributes to develop new products and services, processes and technologies, which guarantee environmental and economic sustainability through an efficient use of resources and high performance manufacturing.

It also improves the stability of the national manufacturing community and it links local and national politics with the international ones.

Sustainable Manufacturing is human centred: people are crucial in the process. Everyone works in very safe conditions, with high wellness standard. Safety shoes, virtual technologies, sensors, multimodal interfaces to support worker-machine interaction are an example of new manufacturing.

Recycling and Re-use is another important aspect. Every materials, applications and technologies should be recycled, according to an industrial symbiosis.

Sustainable Manufacturing’s Enterprises are eco-friendly, eco-design, based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), use eco-filters for production machinery. They reduce CO2 emissions, implementing energy efficiency.

The final purpose is to rise enterprise’s competitiveness in the manufacturing sector and to establish their leadership not only in the national but also in the international context.

Why partners should choose you for cooperation?:

Associazione Cluster Marche Manufactruring is a young cluster, set up in 2013 but very active in national and international scenario. We collaborate with several clusters and we can offer our experiences in the international cooperation.
