Mission/Objectives: 

AQUIMER is a business association focused on the valorisation of aquatic products.

The aim of the AQUIMER competitiveness cluster is to reconcile the depletion of seafood resources and the increase in food demand with the imperatives of sustainable development. By boosting innovation throughout the value chain, AQUIMER's programme focuses on 3 themes:

1. maximising the available resources and creating new resources based on sustainable development

2. positioning fishery products in future foodstuff

3. Changing the fundamentals of the aquatic food industry to promote the emergence of new technological and business approaches

DiscardLess

DiscardLess will help provide the knowledge, tools and technologies as well as the involvement of the stakeholders to achieve the gradual elimination of discarding. These will be integrated into Discard Mitigation Strategies (DMS) proposing cost-effective solutions at all stages of the seafood supply chain.

SEAFOODTOMORROW

SEAFOODTOMORROW aims to strengthen the European seafood production and processing industry by providing validated, commercially viable, and eco-innovative solutions that will improve seafood quality and safety, minimise environmental impacts, and drive socioeconomic development within the seafood industry.

ZEETEX

ZEETEX was implemented in order to reinforce the competitiveness of the technical textiles application in marine industries on a crossboarder level (Belgium and France). The actions udertaken under the project were a skills mapping exercise, joint workshops, etc. The value chains adressed were the following : security and safety of the marine professionnals, fisheries and aquaculture, coastal management and protection, navy.
