Success Story / Achievements:

SUCCESS STORY 1.  Internationalization.

This current year 2015 the Cluster has finally managed to put together an internal working group for Internationalization. There are ten companies involved in this group, although other companies also take part in some the initiatives.

There have been different initiatives

Four of the companies hired together an Export Manager, sharing the expenses.  Although the experience didn’t work out, mainly because of the profile of the person selected, it was the first indicator of a willingness among the cluster members to collaborate in internationalization activities.

The Cluster has been able to sign an agreement with the Regional Development Agency (PROEXCA), to have funds for internationalization actions for our companies. There are ten companies profiting directly by this agreement, with actions in USA, Mexico, Guatemala, China, Australia, etc. Also there are initiatives for the adaptation of technological products for other markets.

There is also another PROEXCA Program in which the Cluster is participating, having been  awarded with an Export Manager for a year in Miami - USA, to work for the Cluster companies, assisting them the enter the American and South American markets.

SUCCESS STORY 2. Tics & Drinks.

The Cluster has designed an event called Tics & Drinks, where we invite managers and owners of companies in a certain sector, for instance Tourism or Transport, to an after-work. We give our companies 5 minutes to present a product or service for that sector, and then we invite them to a drink, for them to socialize, know each other, and hopefully do business together.

So far we have organized four Tics & Drinks. Two were for the Tourism Sector (one in Tenerife and one in Gran Canaria), one for the Transport Sector and another for the Industry sector.

All of them were a great success. The cluster members taking part in the events were really satisfied with the results. The guests from the other sectors really liked the format of the event.

The cluster has even registered the name and logo of the event.

The cluster has created a new working group for Smart Cities´ technological products and services. The idea is to create an integrated solution with all the products and solutions of the cluster companies for Smart Cities.

So far we have created the working group, a new brand for the integrated solution “Citware”, have gathered all the information from the companies, and put it together in a structured document and plan.

We have also collaborated with different public administrations to prepare proposals for a National Call on Smart Cities’ solutions.

We have been given a grant by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism to continue working on the technical and commercial viability of this solution and also to prepare it towards its internationalization.

Why should partners choose you for cooperation?:

We are already are a silver label and are working on our gold label. We are starting to cooperate in actions towards de African market, and are already working with Latinamerica. We would like to have new partners for our CITWARE solution.
