Mission/Objectives: 

The mission of FMC is to stimulate Flemish businesses to collaborate in order to develop, demonstrate and valorize innovative solutions for sustainable management of coasts and oceans.

Our vision and strategy for the period 2014-2018 can be downloaded from our website. The thematic focus of FMC is on coastal defense, offshore energy, marine aquaculture and other emerging sectors related to blue growth. The activities of FMC comprise networking events, facilitating collaborative innovation projects, development of tests and demonstrations at sea, and (international) promotion of the blue sector.

ZEETEX: Interreg France-Wallonie-Flanders project (2012-2014)

Zeetex was a partnership between 2 clusters from Belgium and 2 clusters from France in order to develop and promote innovative textile applications in the marine/maritime sector.

ENERGETIC ALGAE: Interreg IVB North West Europe project (2011-2015)

EnAlgae was a four-year Strategic Initiative bringing together 19 partners and 14 observers across 7 EU Member States with the aim of developing sustainable technologies for algal biomass production.

AQUA-VALUE (2014-2015): project funded under the Flemish new industrial policy program. 11 partners from industry and academia developped a roadmap for integrated aquaculture for Flanders
