Cluster Strategy
Mission/Objectives:

Vision 2022: The Green Chemistry Cluster is an internationally focused research cluster engaging companies and research institutes. The cluster supports the growth of new value chains based on research, development and demonstration projects, and as such enhances the innovativeness and competitive position of its companies in Poland and abroad.   Our strategy is focused on following goals: 1. Create new value chains 2. Increase the presence of the cluster companies in the international arena 3. Consolidate the position of the cluster as a reliable partner in international projects and consortia 4. Support the commercialization of new solutions on the market 5. Ensure an effective exchange of information between cluster members 6. Provide space to establish new business relationships and knowledge exchange 7. Build and strengthen the centers of competence 8. Improve the structure of cluster management at the level of thematic platforms 9. Provide a package of high quality services for cluster members within the membership fees 10. Strengthen the image of the cluster at regional, national and international level

Success Story / Achievements:

Success story No. 1:

Product creation & commercialization – fertilizer  The municipal waste recycling is one of the key problems for the local community governments in Poland. The cluster initiated and carried out the process to create a technology to utilize dangerous waste and create a new, innovative product – fertilizer. The R&D project was carried out together by companies and research institutes engaged in the cluster: the whole process of handling of different types of wastes for utilization was examined and an original method and product of fertilizer were created due to the project. The effect of the R&D is a new product, which was granted a patent proception on European level and which is currently implemented in the market. The product will be sold under brands of the producer as well as Green Chemistry Cluster to stress the cluster role in the process.

Success story No. 2:

Chemika Expo The Green Chemistry Cluster is very active in disseminating of industry knowledge and good practices. Chemika Expo is an international trade forum created by the cluster. The forum is an annual event, and so far 9 editions were organized with more than 1250 participants. The main purpose of the event is to present up to date trends and developments in the bioeconomy and chemistry. The well recognized experts from Poland and abroad are invited to deliver lectures. The open formula of the forum allows the participants to discuss the issues and meet new business partners. The B2B cooperation exchange is also part of the event. The exchange helps to find new business partners and establish cooperation between cluster members and other companies. The study visits are also organized in companies, laboratories and research facilities chosen by the cluster members as interesting.

Success story No. 3:

National Program of Soil De-calcification The Green Chemisty Cluster engages also in important issues of ecological usage of natural resources. The National Program of Soil De-calcification is aimed at education of the polish society about the risks and dangers of soil calcification. The soil calcification levels in Poland are already very high and further usage of fertilizers and other chemical substances will lead to major problems with soli sterilization and outflow of groundwater. The Program was created from the cluster initiative in cooperation between fertilizer producers and research institutes and universities belonging to the cluster. The program covers conferences, workshops and printed materials targeted at wide range of recipients: farmers, local governments, consumers. The program is cross-sectoral and aims to create foundation for Circular Economy in farming and land usage in Poland. The program is strongly supported by Ministry of Agriculture and its agents in the local communities. The effects of the program is increased awareness as well as new value chains created in cooperation within the cluster, which maybe used by farmer, SMEs and other partners to create a sustainable businesses in agriculture.
