Cluster Strategy

MIENK Cluster aims to integrate the representatives from Hungarian construction sector – contractors, authorities, architects and other designers, purchasing bodies, and the full range of suppliers, clients and users towards creation of consortia for open and innovative projects..

The main objectives of MIENK Cluster is to support activities aimed at strengthening the role of R & D in construction sector by increasing the quantity and quality of research, as well as effective implementation of its results. Through its activities, MIENK Cluster contributes to increasing the innovativeness and competitiveness of the Hungarian economy in the field of construction industry Due to the nature of the construction sector, its importance and impact on various sectors of the economy is multidisciplinary and horizontal.

The aim of MIENK Cluster is also dissemination of the information on available EU funds as well as assistance and support in application process to its members. Collaboration with other scientific networks and technology platforms operating in Hungary (p.e. IPAR 4.0 National Technology Platform) shall enhance the research activities in the Hungarian construction sector. Research cooperation shall focus on sustaible building and living with special emphasis on climate-adaptive technologies, energy efficient construction and digitalisation of the construction sector.

MIENK Cluster also supports green buildings and green-renovation which means that building and renovating are implemented in respecting the environment and providing occupants with a maximum of comfort. MIENK Cluster therefore encourages its members to:

• use "green materials" that are renewable and not harmful to humans and their environment, as well as consume little energy during the manufacturing process, transport, implementation and destruction or recycling ; • promote smart architectural choices : ensuring good thermal insulation and excellent ventilation of the entire building; • promote smart energy choices : using renewable energies and (when possible) low-polluting fuels; • promote the choice of smart equipment : low-energy lighting and household appliances, efficient heating, rational use and treatment of water.
