Mission/Objectives: 

Innovation Network Femern Belt is an initiative between Region Zealand and the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation to ensure optimization of the activities in connection with the construction of the Femern tunnel are utilized. The Network strives to create permanent innovation, employment and growth in companies with interest in the construction of the tunnel.

The network has the following strategy:

  • To put forward the needs of the companies as a channel for facilitation between companies, education and knowledge institutions, and public authorities
  • A national and international hub of knowledge for companies with special interest in the construction phase
  • Particular focus on promotion of new products and services in SMEs
  • Access to a large subcontracting network
  • Focus on identified areas with special innovation potential
  • Initiate network and innovation activities close to the construction site

We are both a national and regional network. We have special focus on the fixed link between Germany and Denmark and will be generating cross-sectoral innovation projects within transport and logistics, construction, environmental technologies and services throughout the duration of the network's lifetime.
