Our Strategic Plan 2019-2021 is oriented to the following objectives:

  1. Promote an attractive educational offer that develops in students the skills required by the logistics sector, through a permanent dialogue with the academia.
  2. Identify and disseminate new business opportunities for the Dominican logistics sector
  3. Participate in the identification of issues arising in the regional supply chain and contribute to finding solutions that make logistics services more timely and cost effective.
  4. Promote Dominican Republic´s logistic advantages to attract national and foreign investment
  5. Promote collaborative and creative work among Cluster´s members.

Details of support services: 

Some of the activities carried out by the cluster to support its members include:

1. Organizing trade missions to participate in industry conferences, trade fairs, ans other matchmaking activities. In the past 2 years, we have participated succesfully in : (i) China International Import Expo 2018, held in Shaghai; (ii) the Caribbean Shipping Association's (CSA) 49th Annual General Meeting, Conference and Exhibition, held in Punta Cana; (iii) Salon Internacional de la Logistica" (SIL Barcelona) in Barcelona, Spain; (iv)Caribbean Supply Chain, in Fort-de-France, Martinique; and (v) MEDICA, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

2.  Participating in technical working groups for designing and implementing regulations that ensure fast logistics operations and efficiency in trade. For example, we have work together Dominican customs authority in the establishment of Norm 01-2019 concerning the Logistic Deposit Scheme which regulates the movement of merchandising from/to logistic centers, ports, airports, free zone parks, etc.

3. Organizing workshops and trainning courses for member to promote innovation and best practices. This year we have organized courses in the field: of logistics services for e-commerce and supply chain security. 

4. Connecting local and overseas businesses with logistic servies supliers in the Dominican Republic.

5. Providing technical assitstance to potential investors looking to do business in the logistic industry of the Dominican Republic.

with the purpose of connecting our members with potential partners, customers and suppliers, we have participed in different trade promtion events in Europe, such as:

(i) Salon Internacional de la Logistica (SIL Barcelona)

(ii) Caribbean Supply Chain, in Fort-de-France, Martinique, a French overseas terrotory in the Caribbean, and;

(iii) MEDICA, in Düsseldorf, Germany

Success Story / Achievements: 

In less than 3 years of operations as an organized entity, the Cluster has position itself as the main representative and promoter of the logistic sector in the Dominican Republic, integrating main ports, airports, 3PL and other logistic services suppliers established all over the country.

Education is a priority for the cluster. That´s why we have engaged in dozens of workshops, educational talks, seminars and other academic activities that have impacted thousands of students with profesional interest in the logistic industry. Our first landmark has been the creation of the Logistics Engineering, together with "Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC)" the main university in the country in the field of engineering.

In August 2019, the Cluster as awarded by the President of the Dominican Republic, for its contributions in building strategic alliances for promoting the development of the logistic sector in the Dominican Republic
