Mission/Objectives: 

Macedonian Chamber of Information and Communication Technologies - MASIT is a volunteer, non-profit chamber of commerce. The chamber was founded in 2000 as an initiative of the top fifteen Macedonian IT companies and was operating as an Association within the Economic Chamber of Macedonia. In April 2007, on the Annual Assembly of MASIT, the legal transformation of MASIT from Association to Chamber of commerce was agreed.

Today, MASIT is the voice of the Macedonian ICT industry. The chamber represents companies of the ICT sector in Macedonia including: software and IT services companies, hardware companies and distributors, carrier and other telecom companies, as well as training providers and ICT consulting companies.

VISION:

MASIT to be the enabler for growth of the Macedonian ICT businesses, their recognition and image domestically and abroad, as well as enriching the Macedonian prosperity and economy by having stronger, organized and progressive ICT industry.

MISSION:

MASIT is the voice and resource of a competitive ICT sector, supporting an innovation-driven economy and a key contributor to the nation’s prosperity.

  • WINS-ICT “Western Balkan Countries Inco-Net Support in the field of ICT” EU Funded Project (FP7) http://www.wins-ict.eu/. WINS ICT is an initiative funded by the EC 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development under the ICT theme of the Cooperation Programme.
  • IDEAL-IST7fp EU funded project (FP6) http://www.masit.org.mk/?idealIST_home. Ideal-ist reduces the barriers faced by organizations wishing to participate in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) program by offering transnational partner search.  The Ideal-ist network is co-financed by the European Commission and has 49 national representatives in all Member States, Candidate Countries and Associated States, as well as Western Balkan Countries, Newly Independent States and Mediterranean Countries.
  • SCORE EU funded project (FP6) http://www.score-project.eu . The main contribution of the SCORE project will be the development of ICT Strategic Research Agendas for the participating Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Serbia) and a Policy Paper with “Recommendations for shaping EU scientific co-operation with the Western Balkan Region in the field of ICT research: 2007-2013” that will enable EU RTD policy-makers to define realistic research policies and agendas for the region.
  • SEE Innovation EU Funded project (FP6) is an EU-funded project aiming to assist candidate and third countries from the South Eastern Europe (SEE) region in defining a more targeted approach to future cooperation in the forthcoming Framework Programme 7 of the European Commission, and to assist SMEs from both groups of countries to actively participate in European ICT research activities.
