Mission/Objectives: 

The association of legal entities with nationwide operations and international networking brings together major companies and institutions from the fields of industry, energy and ecology, construction and applied research of innovations and related education. PROFILE OF ACTIVITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLUSTER The NEK cluster has been operating in Slovakia in the field of innovation development and support of industrial competitiveness in the area of energy, economy and ecology since the beginning of 2012. It is a typical industrial innovation cluster dealing with: organization and cooperation of industrial production and distribution activities of cluster members and partners and providing service to the business community, development and support of projects in manufacturing, research and development, education, industrial investment and construction in energy, ecology, and industry as well as construction, materials engineering and project activities organizing congresses, workshops, conferences, festivals, excursions and competitions, international cooperation within the V4 countries and related publishing and promotional activities, building cluster technology maps and networks providing design, certification, environmental and related economic services, auditing and consulting in the field of applied research and development of innovation capacity especially in the SME segment. Details of support services: 

The Cluster is thence holder of the award of the Minister of Economy of the Slovak Republic for Innovative Act of 2012, the holder of the bronze certifikate: European Cluster Excellence Initiative Bronze Label Certifikate, issued for the first time by the EU in January 2013 and subsequently succesfully re - defended and awarded in 2018. In. 2013, Environment price was granted by the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic.

SHREC Interreg - kooperation and stakeholder Slovak Innovation and Energy Agenture

Cooperation and involvement of the Cluster in the Projects of the Slovak Innovation and Energy Agency as stakeholder - CLUSTER FY

In 2014, Cluster succesfully implemented educational project with the nationwilde impacted entiteled: „Education of the business community for the creation of innovative ecological, energy investments in industry" for 150 participants, financed partially by a grant from the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, with a very good response in Slovakia. The project was follewed by another professional educational project in 2015: "Special training program for energy and eco-innovation in project creation" ntended for almost 90 people interested in the creation of modern innovative industrial projects, financed partially by sources of subsidies from the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, with excellent success and international presentation of results at the workshop. Subsequently, the applicant implemented a specialized project in 2016 with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, namely: „Leadership project Energofutura “ with an impact on more than two hundred participants and partners of the cluster organization in Slovakia and abroad. Over the next few years in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of Slovak Republic, SIEA, TUKE and SKSI, the applicant repeatedly implemented another educational and research project: "Creating a knowledge portfolio and map of energy and environmental clustering" with a very positive response from the membership base and the general professional public and central state administration bodies. The latest successfull results of research and education of claster organization was the project: „Designing innovative tools for energy and environmental cluster habitats" in 2019/2020 with the output of more than 100 experts - members and partners of the cluster.

Operation and training of more than 300 people in the past two years at the Center for Environmental and Energy Education in Košice, outside the cluster. 

Establishment and award of the Certificate of Innovative Excellence in cooperation with TUKE Košice for the best companies and institutions in the Slovak Republic. www.nek.sk
