Promotion
Success Story / Achievements:

POLE AVENIA went from 51 mostly academic members in 2012 to 175 members in 2017, of which 115 are companies (66%) - 15 larger groups or medium size & 100 SMEs

Since it was labelled as a "competitiveness cluster" by the French government in 2010, POLE AVENIA has supported 90 collaborative RD&I projects, 48 of which have been granted public funding, representing a cumulative budget of close to 130 M€ and a cumulative public funding of 50 M€.

In 2016, POLE AVENIA inaugurated the first ever start-up incubator dedicated to geoscience & subsurface energy in France, called GEOSTART in 2016 - which currently hosts 6 start-ups in Pau, southwest France, where the cluster is located. The cluster hosted its first international BtoB convention with delegations from Norway (guest country), Ireland and Belgium, and launched a collaborative business platform called THOMS to help its members, more specifically the SMEs, to jointly access international markets.

Why should partners choose you for cooperation?:

We are a very dynamic & highly reactive cluster. We represent 100 SMEs, 15 large groups and medium size companies from the whole value chain of upstream oil & gas, deep geothermal and geological storage industries, 40 research & training organisations & 20 other ecosystem actors. We are action oriented, we know our members very well and want to help them go international, extend their network, create new partnerships and in the end get more competitive.
