Success Story / Achievements:

In 2015 University Politehnica of Bucharest applied for funding within the Competitivity Operational Program – Investments programs for public R&D institutions/ universities, in order to establish the Centre for Innovative Manufacturing Solutions of Smart Biomaterials and Biomedical Surfaces (INOVABIOMED). The financing source was identified by one of the founding members of RoHealth – F.M. Management Consultancy – which was also involved in writing the financing request. The project proposal was sustained by the cluster’s members, who have signed partnership agreements and expressions of interest in which they showed their support for the research themes that will be developed by the previous mentioned institute when it will be completely equipped and fully functional.

The main ambition of the project is to develop a state-of-the-art research infrastructure dedicated to the scientific community and to industrial actors from the field of chemistry, natural resources, materials, biomedical and cosmetic products, biotechnology, biosensors, pharmaceutical industry, biology and health. The project will combine specific skills, technical resources and strategic visions from researchers, clinicians, developers and business to enhance industry-university collaboration and innovation and to strengthen international collaboration.

The project proposal was accepted for financing, obtaining the highest score and it and the project will start in the following months.
