Mission/Objectives: 

Mission

  1. We create the conditions for effective and efficient operation of each member of Vojvodina Metal Cluster through networking and joint action of enterprises, administrative bodies and research institutions.
  2. We contribute to the competitiveness enhancement of the metal sector through support to members, knowledge transfer, innovative potentials and improving their internationalization.
  3. We develop cluster business infrastructure to organized, systematic, highly professional and strong support to companies in the metal sector in order to improve their competitiveness in the global market, providing visibility and strong regional connections.
  4. We are promoters of a positive image of the metal industry and its visibility.

Objectives

  • Contribute to sustainable employment in Serbia through the promotion of public-private partnership to increase competitiveness and raise the export performance of companies in metal sector.
  • Increase the competitiveness of SMEs in metal sector, by improving the institutional capacity of the cluster by providing services in the areas of technological innovation, quality certification and product training for employees, as well as marketing/internationalization and the adoption of EU standards.
  • Develop Cluster Centers of Excellence which will bring together interdisciplinary knowledge and ensure the sustainability of the concept through education and training of university staff and representatives of institutions in accordance with the needs of business, students and employees in terms of joint action and development and the improvement of existing curricula programs, practical knowledge aimed at the economy.

Details of support services: 

1.       Internationalization - Assistance in establishing business connections with other cluster members and other local and international companies, new exporting business opportunities and closing business deals;

2.       Engaging experts of different profiles in quality management system, information technology, finance (financial issues related to international contract, tax regulations, standards etc.);

3.       Development of technology, production, organizational and management structure (researches, adjusting technology in use towards current market demands, introducing necessary changes in organizational and management structure in order to correspond to new business opportunities);

4.       Preparation of VMC projects targeted improving and expanding services to members, and increasing capacity of VMC members to prepare project and obtain available EU and other donors funding;

5.       Non formal education – various vocation trainings (CNC operator, welders, locksmiths, etc.);

Support Programmes
Participation in Funded Support Programmes:

1. Sustainable Local Development Project VMC Innovation and Business Development Centre - InnoBuddy” financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within Sustainable Local Development Project. The overall objective is to contribute to metal-processing industry in Vojvodina to be more competitive, innovative, dynamic and efficient by developing sustainable Innovation and Business Development Service Center as core business of Vojvodina Metal Cluster in order to increase sale and export and create new jobs.

2. "Network to Network (cluster to cluster) management" as a part of new developed strategy for the industrial subcontracting producers in Serbia. This project is financed by Switzerland Global Enterprise, SIPPO Swiss Import Promotion Programme. The intervention strategy supports the sustainable growth of Serbia's export volume by aligning and integrating the subcontracting into the Swiss and value chain strategy.

3. "Innovative Cluster-Wide Product"  financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within Sustainable Local Development Project. The overall objective of the activity is to contribute to increasing competitiveness of the VMC members by involving them in the production of the first innovative, cluster-wide product in order to increase their sales, exports, preserve the existing and create new jobs. The activity will also contribute to increased capacity of Vojvodina Metal Cluster to provide trainings and services to its members and should contribute to increasing international visibility of the cluster members and enable better positioning in the global market.

4. "Underground container (ICWP)" financed by National Agency fro Regional Development, Republic of Serbia.  Overall objective is to contribute to increasing the productivity and competitiveness of domestic enterprises and entrepreneurs by connecting to the cluster, as well as strengthening the effective cooperation between small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs with scientific research and educational institutions. The problem that we want to solve through the implementation of this project is to test the prototype in real environment and time conditions in order to prepare a final new product for Certification and commercialization.
