Success Story / Achievements:

The Wood Industry Cluster (WIC) has managed the Competence centre of HR development in wood sector (www.kocles.si), which comprised 27 companies (with 2.470 employees) and 8 institutions. The Competence centre organized trainings for the companies with aim to help them at their products, processes and business models’ development. In years 2016-2018 we realized 898 trainings sessions with 97 different lecturers. Trainings attended 5.392 participants from companies.

We encourage our SME members to participate in the FP7 and Horizon 2020 and to invest in RTD. Until now, we succeed to include several companies direct in the FP7 and H2020 project consortiums as partners. With such good practices, we accelerate development activities also in other SMEs.

With aim to strengthen and linked the existing capacities and competencies of the institutional actors in the Slovenian Forest-Based sector, in 2013, we initialize and arrange signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between 19 sector organizations. We act as a promotor of networking between institutional actors and SMEs and accelerator of knowledge transfer.
