We are part of H2020-INNOSUP-01-2017 VIDA project (nº 777795), starting 2018 until 2021, that aims to support SME innovation through funding instruments to increase water-energy efficiency in agrofood areas through KETs. Total budget available for SME: 3.3 M €. https://vidaproject.eu/
Energy in Water (EnW) is a European Strategic Cluster Partnership - Going International (ESCP-4i) which aims to identify potential market opportunities across the water-energy Nexus and support the internationalisation of SMEs within and beyond Europe. Seven research-driven clusters across the EU specialising in water and energy technology and innovation participate in the ESCP-4i: The Water Cluster (UK), Water Alliance (Netherlands), Clean (Denmark), ZINNAE (Spain), AVAESEN (Spain), CD2E (France) and Ea Ecoentreprises (France). [email protected] is a FP7 project financed by "Regions of Knowledge" call of the European Union under Grant Agreement nº 32007. This project aims to develop a a network of regions that will set guidelines allowing to prioritize public financing of RDI in the use and efficient management of the water in urban environments. It started in 2013 and will last until June 2016, although the vocation of its members is to continue through several activities for soft-landing innovation services for its members. The European Commission has provided more than two million euros [email protected] project: European Water Efficiency in European Urban Areas, which will run for three years with the participation of a network of regions: Aragon, in Spain; Provence-Alpes - Côte dAzur, in France; the East of England, in the United Kingdom; Eastern Galilee, in Israel, and Malta. In December 2019 we collaborate in the organization of the Water Innovation Conference.
ZINNAE is the aragonese water cluster. Resource efficiency (water and energy) is a key regional priority included in the Smart Specialization Strategy (one of the three priority areas). In terms of economic development, other priority areas for aragon are agriculture and logistics. Water is essential for both. One million people live in our Region. Most of them, concentrated in Zaragoza, a city of 700,000 inhabitants, often used as a medium-sized city laboratory for market analysis. In Zaragoza, there is one of the largest eco-districts in europe, a sustainable neighbourhood of 9,000 houses with bioclimatic, water efficiency, lightening and irrigation approaches for urban sustainability: Ecociudad Zaragoza. Beyond Zaragoza, Aragon is mostly rural, with 75% of the municipalities having less than 500 inhabitants. Agriculture represents up to 10% of the gross regional product. With extreme weather conditions (and a pluvioumetry of 200 mm a year in some areas), aragonese farmers are devoted to efficient irrigation in terms of water and energy.
ZINNAE's business members are within the whole water value chain, including water industry technology providers, enginering services, water utilities (also international companies with offices in Aragon); and bath plumbing manufacturer. Together they represent more than 30% of the water sector of Aragon and up to 136 Million € turnover. ZINNAE was born as a enabler of collaboration for innovation among the water stakeholders regionally, and beyond, specially through European funding schemes. Since 2014 we have an alliance with Centro de Competencias del Agua, the water cluster of Peru based in Lima for collaborative projects that support both the peruvian and spanish water performance. We are specially devoted to support our SME for competitiveness of our economy, our researchers and our Region.
With a team of two people and a huge network of European contacts, we are an ambitious association that supports the internationalisation and innovation approaches for smart water and energy management in urban, rural, industry and agriculture practices.
