CR.EU Creativity Europe, the EUROPEAN META-CLUSTER for Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Enterprises is born!
Yesterday, a conference gathering representatives from European institutions and clusters in Brussels launched “CR.EU Creativity Europe”, the EUROPEAN META-CLUSTER for Cultural Heritage and Cultural and Creative Enterprises:
Luca Perego, Head of the European Commission's DG for Culture and Innovation, said: “The importance of creating networks between universities, businesses, and research to foster innovation and make Europe more competitive.”
Igor Kalinic, Head of Competitiveness and Internationalisation at EISMEA, said "the metacluster and therefore the public and private system of cultural and creative enterprises are important for the innovation of other productive sectors "
The sector of cultural and creative industries and cultural heritage is becoming increasingly important at the European level, contributing directly and indirectly to about 15% of the European GDP.
The CR.EU Creativity Europe Meta-cluster coordinates and proposes activities of dialogue, development, training, and services for regional and national European clusters, acting as a point of connection with European institutions.
This dynamic started with the signature of a partnership agreement last May 7 during the European Cluster Conference by the ten partners of the two Euroclusters from the CCI industrial ecosystem: FRIEND CCI and CREATHRIV. Additional CCI clusters are welcome to join the initiative to cover all Europe.
