We are pleased to announce that ELXIR has been awarded under the SILEO 1st Call for Advanced Technology Uptake Projects!

ELXIR is a practice specializing in the design assistance of atypical envelope systems. Since its creation, Elxir is also developing an expertise on photometric simulations, proposing digital environment lighting simulations for architectural and industrial applications. These digital twins (virtual prototyping) provide solutions to better visualize and study the project under variable materials and multiple outside conditions. Elxir also aims to use this technology as a powerful tool for exploring innovative and creative envelopes and lighting systems. Its founder, Philippe Bompas, has a solid experience in the field of building envelope design with a deep knowledge of materials. Helped by a career done in some engineering office specialized in façade and specialty structure, ASI and RFR sas, trained as an architect, he brings not only an understanding of the technical realms but also of the plastic and architectural aims of the Clients.

PB-BM_2 project

The advanced project, titled “PB-BM-2”, builds upon the feasibility phase of the business digital project “PB-BM-1”, which focused on testing the correct digitalization of small samples of brushed metal materials. PB-BM-2 project aims to scale up this digitalization process to prototype it on a larger scale, preparing it for a pilot application thanks to the collaboration with the technology provider MATEREAL. The final goal of the advanced project is to evaluate the results for use in large-scale lighting simulation programs in architectural models. This advanced project has potential advancements to the field on architectural design and building technologies.

ELXIR will receive indirect EUR 10.500 from the European Union’s Single Market Programme through the SILEO Eurocluster project (GA 101074564).
