Description
As clusters continue to play a vital role in driving regional and sectoral competitiveness, innovation and economic growth, the need for diversified funding sources has become increasingly important. While public funding has historically supported cluster development, private options are now emerging as a crucial driver for sustainable growth and long-term success. This shift towards private investment reflects a growing recognition of the value cluster bring to the industry and economical ecosystems, fostering development and delivering return on investment.
The European Cluster Collaboration Platform, on behalf of the European Commission, organised the EU Clusters Talk “Private Capital, Big Impact: Financing Clusters” on 16 October, 8:30 – 9:45 CET, to explore the landscape of financing, focusing on venture capital, corporate partnerships and other funding models.
Speakers included:
- Albena Taneva, DG GROW, European Commission
- Lucrezia Lo Sordo, Senior Research Officer, Invest Europe
- Régis Hamelin, Pôle ALPHA RLH, CTO, Blumorpho
- Stamatiki Kritas, Manager Director, CEBR – Counsil of European Bioregions
- Thomas Krogh Jensen, CEO, Copenhagen Fintech
- Mateo Djouadi, European Projects and Sustainable Finance, Pôle Finance Innovation
This even is part of regular online meetings brought to the cluster community by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform. They offer up-to-date insights into the latest industrial policies and clusters’ involvement, projects and best practices, the latest ECCP news, and funding opportunities. The EU Clusters Talks are a space to exchange knowledge and to discuss cluster-relevant topics, which will change with every meeting.
