Description
The green and digital transition is forecast to bring millions of new jobs. Large and small businesses need skilled people to innovate and grow. The dynamic nature of the labour market can lead to skill mismatches and shortages, which can be major factors for unemployment. Therefore, the European Commission launched the Pact for Skills to promote joint action to maximise the impact of investing in upskilling and reskilling. It calls on national, regional, and local authorities, companies, and education and training providers to work together and make a commitment to invest in training for all people of working age in the EU.
In this context, the European Cluster Collaboration Platform, on behalf of the European Commission, DG GROW, organised the EU Clusters Talk “European Year of Skills: Talent for the twin transition” on 14 June 2023, 8:30 – 09:45 CET, to discuss programmes and initiatives for re- and upskilling, the needed skills set for the twin transition, and cluster manager competences.
Speakers included:
- Carolina Garcés, Project Manager, Mobile Heights;
- Torsten Urban, Head of Education & Training, Lüdenscheid Plastics Institute;
- Elin McCallum, Director, Bantani Education;
- Delphine Descorne-Jeanny, President, Cluster NOGENTECH;
