On February, 21 st 2018 in the context of the EU Industry Day, the European Commission launched a second generation of 23 co-funded EU Cluster Partnerships (ESCP-4i). The SpaceWave Consortium was given the great chance to be one of them, and is very proud of having won this award. This event enabled networking with other projects and seeking synergies. In 2018 the LASER-GO Global partnership has kick-started its activities with a mission to New Zealand and the State of Victoria, Australia. In February a delegation from the consortium visited Auckland, Dunedin and Melbourne where a number of meetings with public officials, company representatives and university leaders took place resulting in the mission which has been the most successful to-date in terms of leads and contacts. On 22nd February, the Basque Government Delegation in Brussels hosted the kick-off meeting of the ELBE project which seeks an alliance between leading marine energy clusters across Europe, with the aim of defining a joint internationalisation strategy.
