Due to the COVID-19 global health crisis and its strong impact in the automotive industry, with the general temporarily shutdown of many manufacturing plants, the EACN project partners have been forced to ask the European Commission for the temporarily suspension of the project activities. After receiving a positive answer to our request, the project is now postponed for a 3-months period, until July 15 th . As soon as we resume the EACN project, we will inform about the next steps to take and the activities reschedule, having always in mind the safety conditions of all participants. On 23 April 2020, 19 experts from 15 automotive clusters from 10 European and international countries representing more than 2.800 companies met to launch an action to think about how to support their members and the whole European automotive industry to overcome the current pandemic crisis and to transform it into an opportunity for the future. The third Matchmaking Event focused on “Virtualisation of production processes”, was held from 4 to 6 March 2020 in Belgrade. The event was organized by the Serbian Automotive Cluster (AC Serbia), with the participation of near 30 representatives from 20 organizations coming both from the consortium partners and regional companies interested in the topic. Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the COVID-19 emergency did not stop the activities of the EACP-EUROSME project, which marks significant steps forward.
