Sectoral/industrial focus:  New industrial materials, advanced manufacturing and clean technologies

Executive Summary:
Materialix Consortium intends to strengthen cluster management excellence in the field of industrial new materials as a way to provide more professional business services to cluster members and in particular SMEs (it will benefit directly 1.350 SMEs), and therefore contribute to the development of world-class clusters in the EU in this field.
For this purpose Materialix gathers a group of 4 European clusters/business networks from engineering, tooling & plastics sectors covering the entire value chain for the area of “clean technologies and green materials”, which is a key strategic area of Europe’s policy of smart and sustainable growth.
All partners will evaluate and optimise the cluster’s management performance according to the benchmarking methodology developed by the European Cluster Excellence Initiative; reinforce its main skills by training activities addressing the cluster’s most fragile management areas and strategic areas for future development, as also study visits to other top clusters organisations. The Consortium will analyse the currently provided services to design of future offer, through the redefinition of cluster’s services portfolio and /or cooperation policy. Dissemination and follow up activities is aimed to disseminate project results and to develop a strategic plan for the follow-up of the collaboration activities and in particular for the new transnational “European market cluster in clean tecnologies and green materials”.
