Circular Economy Mission to Mexico: Circular Economy Forum and Business-to-Business virtual events

As a follow-up to the Circular Economy Mission to Mexico in April 2019, the Circular Economy Forum (CEF) to the Northern States of Mexico are organising, with the support of the  European Union (EU) Delegation in Mexico, a Circular Economy Forum and Business-to-Business virtual events which aim to bring together European companies and Mexican companies from the Northern States of Mexico (more specifically Chichuachua, Sonora).

The B2B virtual events will take place from Monday 19 to Thursday 22 October and from Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October 2020.

Developing a circular economy is essential to foster sustainable economic growth and generate new jobs, especially in the context of the economic recovery following the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Further promoting the circular economy is a priority of the European Commission, as outlined by the EU Green Deal and detailed in the Circular Economy Action Plan presented by the Commission last March. It is also part of the green recovery envisaged by the EU as a key element of international cooperation.

Mexico is one of our strategic partner countries in Latin America. Mexico has shown interest in transitioning from a linear to a circular economy, and the Mexican states and municipalities have demonstrated serious commitment and often are leading this process.

The Circular Economy Forum started with a series of webinars, focusing on different aspects of the Circular Economy, during which EU policies and experiences were presented, and will now focus on B2B with the following objectives:

  1. To help EU green business and in particular SMEs to operate internationally by exploiting green business opportunities in the European Union and in Mexico,
  2. To promote green business partnerships in targeted sectors by participating in matchmaking events with local entrepreneurs in Mexico.

These virtual B2B meetings will be organised with the support of the EU Delegation in Mexico using a dedicated "B2Match" platform. Our B2B marketplace will allow you to upload all the information you select to promote your company along with different tools to identify suitable partners and successfully organise your business agenda.

Companies can find out more and register here from 1 September until 28 October 2020.
