Description

Cluster initiatives around the world have proven their ability to tackle the complex discipline of organising public, private, academia and civil society in strong platforms for job creation, SME support, R&D, business collaboration, exports and investment promotion.  In collaboration with Oxford Research, we are thrilled to be organising Cluster Excellence Management Course for the third year in row. Taking place in Copenhagen 15th-17th November, it is the essential course for cluster facilitators and policy makers with interest in developing strong and innovative clusters. Regardless of their different points of departure, after completing the course, the participants will be able to work with clusters in practice and to launch and develop innovative cluster initiatives. The course will be an interactive process where discussion and group work will take a point of departure within the participants’ own clusters and cluster initiatives.  The course offers:

  • Theoretical and practical knowledge about clusters and cluster development

  • Cluster cycles: Comprehensive understanding of clusters’ and cluster initiatives’ development stages

  • Understanding of different cluster policies and approaches

  • Practical tools and methods for cluster development: management and facilitation of clusters and networks

  • Strategic development and action plans in relation to participants’ own clusters

  • Challenges for cluster and network facilitators: Pitfalls and criteria for success

  • Evaluation and monitoring of clusters and cluster initiatives

  • Insight into international good practice

Both of the days will be formed in the style of a work seminar – a combination of presentations, international case studies, and practical group work, with the focus to participants own cluster experiences. DAY 1: The day will be kicked off with a presentation of the course and introduction of participants and their expectations. Additionally following points will be discussed:

During this day we will also put an extra attention to long-term business & financial models for clusters as well as how to go international with clusters.  The course will be led by Dr.Kim Møller who has worked with cluster development since the 1980s and now acts as a CEO of Oxford Group and president of Oxford Research; Jakob Stoumann who leads Oxford Research’s activities within regional development, clustering and innovation; and our CEO Nicolai Sederberg Rottbøll who was one of the main driving forces behind the development of the largest and fastest growing cluster initiative in Danish history.  We look forward to welcoming you at Cluster Excellence Management Course!
