Description

EU projects have come together to address the topic of creating economic activity from nanotechnologies.  Cluster, regional and EU-level initiatives are explored and recommendations will be produced to support effective and integrated roadmaps resulting in a thriving economic contributor.

Workshop mission: To identify key requirements for the successful economic development of nanotechnology

Workshop outcome: To provide a strong set of recommendations for all actors involved in supporting the development of nanotechnology as an economic activity within Europe

Sessions:

  • Regional development for nanotechnology and KETs
  • Long term framework for nanotechnology innovation.
  • Centres of excellence for nanotechnology and wider KETs
  • Nanosafety as a business opportunity for Europe.

Participating projects

  • ClusterNanoRoad: Enabling clusters and regions to support the uptake of KETs (in this case, nanotechnology!) www.clusternanoroad.eu
  • Nanodata: Aims to provide information for policies that lead to the creation and improvement of the conditions which will allow researchers and European industries to safely master the properties of nanomaterials and to innovate with nanotechnology
  • NanoGenTools: A Marie Curie RISE project that focuses on nanosafety and collaboration between industry and academia

Who should attend?

If you are involved in the industry uptake of KETs at any level within Europe, your contribution is invited and welcome.  Join an active discussion-driven meeting and contribute to long term development of recommendations.
