Description

The Skills for Industry: Robotics and Schools Conference will bring together up to 100 practitioners including industry, European Commission services, representatives of educational systems of Member States, teachers and more, interested in Robotics and bringing robotics education to schools.

On the long term, education systems will play a key role to manage the fast running transition of the job market. A significant increase in the uptake of technology at every level of education is essential to enable “future-ready” curricula. It is therefore important to overcome the current barrier between education and industry. The conference is the second part of a project aiming to anticipate the foreseen wide use of robots and co-bots in the workplace of the future. By bridging the gap between school and robotics, it helps prepare pupils for a world where automation will be ubiquitously at their disposal.

This event is organised by the European Commission DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) with the support of European Schoolnet, the network of 34 European Ministries of Education not-for-profit organisation, which aims to bring innovation in teaching and learning to Ministries of Education, schools, teachers, researchers, and industry partners as part of its STEM Alliance initiative.
