Tokai Optecs keeps face masks from fogging up glasses

Face masks have become an important tool in the fight against COVID-19. But for people who wear glasses, there’s an unwanted side effect: when wearing a face mask, the water in the air they exhale is more likely to condense on their glasses. That’s why Tokai Optecs, a Flanders-Japanese joint venture based in Tienen, developed ‘DefogCoating’, a product to treat glasses during production so that they no longer fog up in the face of face masks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Donation

For the time being, Tokai Optecs has yet to produce large quantities of the special glasses. However, the first 50 pairs of glasses that they made were donated to the Sint-Kamillus University Psychiatric Center in Bierbeek (Flanders) as a thank you for the hard work of the care personnel
