The Boeing group has announced that for the first time in seven years the number of orders for commercial constructions has dropped below 5,000. Due to previous cancellations due to coronavirus and persistent problems with the 737 MAX, Boeing also found that many orders were placed by airlines that were not financially strong enough to actually pick up the delivery.

The current situation in the immediate situation may worsen, because few airlines plan to increase or replace their fleets because the demand for air travel has dropped significantly because of COVID-19.
