Competitiveness upgrading after covid19

Porter, Ketels and Clinch have just published a very interesting paper on measures needed to be taken in order to upgrade competitiveness in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis. The focus is placed on the supply-side, microeconomic, and firm-centric response to the virus and its economic repercussions, a dimension that, in the author's view, needs to be added to the public health and macroeconomic issues currently dominating the debate.

The response to the crisis is divided into 3 periods: immediat crisis response, living with the pandemic for the next 1-2 years and the medium term future.
