As a result of COVID-19  it is expected that global supply and value chains will change dramatically. European clusters are bound for excellence on a global scale and thus must be able to cope and compete in the new economic context driven by the current crisis.

In that respect, Japan is one of the most important export and internationalisation destination.

Therefore, it might be useful to look into a recent study on a "Report on EU-Japan Cluster & Region Cooperation" published by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation.

You may find the report at https://www.eu-japan.eu/sites/default/files/publications/docs/minerva_report_loczi.pdf
