Animal shelters in Poland - crisis during Covid19 pandemic.

In the shelters run by the VIVA Foundation there are also horses in addition to dogs and cats. Rising hay prices cause entrepreneurs who have so far supported the Foundation financially to withdraw from cooperation.

The situation is very difficult, veterinary services have been abandoned, doctors are only called in in case of emergency. Homeless horses start to arrive, people give them to a shelter. In a better economic situation they find those shelters which are financed from the local government budget.

Many places stop adoptions, volunteers are sent home, visits are impossible and there is a lack of staff.

In the United States, on the other hand, the situation is different, with an increased number of adoption applications in recent weeks.
