Experience exchange on policy sustainability with Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)

Submitted by Alina Danieles… on 20 March 2018

On March 1, a delegation around the director of the Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) visited Silicon Saxony in Dresden during their Europe tour. MEXT plays a role as seed phase investor to support the Japanese innovation ecosystem. However, they recognized that sustainability is a challenge and hoped to gain insights from outstanding European clusters – among them Silicon Saxony – in order to create and implement a new policy program.

Frank Bösenberg (Managing Director Silicon Saxony Management GmbH) and Gitta Haupold (Managing Director Silicon Saxony e. V.) presented the cluster itself as well as the Saxon ecosystem and gave insights on how to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem.
