First Mex-RS Cluster House matchmaking event in Serbia opened new collaboration perspectives between Mexico & Serbia, Latin America & Balkans

The first clusters & SME matchmaking event between Mexico and Serbia, with a special focus on Southern Serbia, was held in Belgrade on the 26th of July 2018, at the Serbian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, a partner institution of Cluster House since 2012. The event was initiated by members of the Board of Directors of the Institute for innovation, competitiveness and clusters GLOBAL TCI NETWORK: Dr. MANUEL MONTOYA ORTEGA, Director of the Automotive Cluster of Nuevo León, A.C. and Founding Partner of ENE Estructuras de Negocio, S.C. and Docent Dr. DANKA MILOJKOVIC, Director of the Cluster House Nis, Southern Serbia.

The matchmaking event was organized by Cluster House and supported by the Ambassador of Mexico in Serbia, H.E. Mr. Marco Antonio García Blanco, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry deputy president Mr. Milovan Kocic, CEO of the YUMIS Food Processing Company from Nis/Southern Serbia, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sector for Entrepreneurship Mrs. Branislava Simanic, director and the Nisava Administrative District / Southern Serbia Mrs. Dragana Sotirovski, chef of district.

Cluster development is a matter of professional and development-oriented people, their trust, respect and capacities to build networks and collaborate, to bring prosperity in their environment and to contribute in keeping peace in the region and globally!

The Cluster matchmaking between the Cluster House in Serbia and the Cluster Ecosystem of Nuevo Leon gathered over 30 participants from Serbian supporting institutions: Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication of the Republic of Serbia, Serbian Development Agency, Serbian Credit and Insurance Agency, Nisava Administrative District; and the Cluster House Serbian Cluster Network SER ClusNet members: Serbian Automotive Cluster, Serbian Wellness, Health Tourism and Spa Cluster, BeOrganic Cluster, GraciaMedica Cluster, Agro Cluster Homolje, Tourism Cluster Avala, Innovative based Construction Cluster Dundjer and Urban Planning Cluster Nis.

The existing Mexican credit line for supporting export-import businesses between Mexico and Serbia, available to companies from both countries, will be a good tool for boosting the cluster-based SME trade cooperation. Mexican cluster community expressed interest in production facilities in Southern Serbia which could be reinitiated.
