For the fourth year, the US Small Business Administration launched the Growth Accelerator Fund Competition, that will support 20 accelerators, incubators and other fast growing and entrepreneurial business models supporting small businesses and start-ups development. The total competition budget is $1 Million, divided into 20 prizes of $50,000 each. The application period was from June 23rd to July 21st. Applicants have been invited to set-up their choice of business model in terms of entrepreneurial ecosystem initiative, without losing touch that a specific focus on areas and ecosystems that have a more difficult access to capital would be enhancing applications.

The 20 recipients final list has been announced by the Small Business Administration on October 30th. Winners are now expected to provide deliverables such as progress and interim reports or project summaries, but also activity statistics to assure the SBA monitoring. Some of them already launched their own supporting programs, such as the Maine Center for Entrepreneurial Development (MCED) Top Gun Entrepreneurship Acceleration program or also the MergeLane’s Women’s Leadership Camp that will take place from Nov. 10th to Nov. 12th.
