The Chair of Production Systems (LPS) at the Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB), conducts research in the fields of production automation, production management, production services and industrial robotics. In addition, the LPS is a state-of-the-art learning factory or Learning and Research Factory (LFF, https://www.zps-lff.de/) for the implementation and evaluation of Industrie 4.0 research results in a practical factory environment. The LPS Learning and Research Factory is a place for research, teaching, qualification and industrial cooperation. It is equipped with modern laboratories, machine tools, industrial robots and measuring technology.

Neue Materialien Fürth GmbH (NMF) is a national research center of the Bavarian State. We transform cutting-edge materials and manufacturing methods into industrial solutions. CITRA is a Technological Resources Centre with 20 years of experience in industrial support, technology transfer, consulting and innovation in the field of advanced surface treatment.

Thanks to a multi-process machine park (wet & dry processes and associated characterisation tools), and a team consisting of doctors, engineers and technical experts, CITRA provides tailor-made services to meet and find the best solution of industrial needs.
CITRA's expertise concerns surface treatments and coatings by wet processes, thermal spraying and vacuum deposition and also characterization of produced coatings.

-Thermal Spraying: thanks to its robotic booths, CITRA offers multiprocesses possibilities : Flame, Wire Arc, HVOF, APS and Cold Spray. These thermal spray techniques can be tailored for the
development of new products or coatings.

- Vacuum Deposition: CITRA is equipped with a magnetron type PVD/PECVD able to work up to 300 °C. Coating can be carried out on metallic, ceramics or polymer substrate, owning to the flexibility to adapt the tooling and the machine to the client’s needs.

- Wet Process: CITRA offers coating solutions via electroplating and electroless process. Thanks to the flexibility of the CITRA pilot’s plant containing 30 tanks of 80 L, any development

The activity of CIC biomaGUNE is conducted by a team of 12 international and dynamic research groups, which develop high- level research at the interface between chemistry, physics and biology, with particular emphasis on the properties and applications of nanostructures at the biomolecular level. The final aim of CIC biomaGUNE’s research is to contribute to understanding the way in which biological systems interact with nanometer- sized materials, at the molecular level.
