Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering GmbH

Founded in 2008, RCPE GmbH is an independent research center located in Graz (Austria) that performs cutting-edge research in the field of pharmaceutical process and product design.

Every day, we help our partners to develop and pioneer novel drugs and associated production routes, providing safe and more affordable therapies to patients. From early development to commercial production, we accompany our partners through all phases, utilizing our science-based, mechanistic understanding of products and processes.

As an international driver of pharmaceutical engineering science, RCPE offers tailored solutions to our partners, building upon our advanced capabilities in modeling and simulation, material science, PAT and process design. Moreover, RCPE features an international, multidisciplinary research team, unique laboratories and pilot plants suitable for even potent APIs.

The pilot plant is extensively equipped, including a continuous extrusion system with hot-melt extruders, a wet extruder, a die-face cutter, a pelletizer, various feeding systems, a fully-instrumented laboratory tablet press, fluid-bed systems, a compaction simulator, granulators, nano-spray driers, capsule filling systems, filters, blenders, drug printers, crystallizers, coaters and much more.
The machines are used for process development, process understanding and the implementation of process-analytical tools for in-process monitoring, control and process optimization.

Regular maintenance and certification of the equipment and extensive training of the employees guarantee top research results and performance.

MATERIA NOVA is a research and development center based on advanced and disruptive technologies in the field of sustainable materials, multifunctional surfaces, materials for energy and biotechnology.

The 80 scientific experts from Materia Nova offer partnership with small, medium or large companies for research and/or development projects which are mainly carried out in the Materia Nova facilities and are validated at industrial scale either by its subsidiary companies (IONICS S.A. and NANO4 S.A.) or directly at customers site.

Materia Nova gives also technical assistance to companies such as in upscaling, feasibility testing, life cycle assessment, materials characterization, market research, state of the art, technology watch and targeted consulting.

COMTES FHT a.s., a Czech privately owned research organization that pursues research and development (R&D) of advanced metals, non-metallic materials and methods and technologies for their processing. It also provides custom R&D services in the fields of computer modelling, software development, engineering design, manufacture of prototypes and specimens for testing, materials testing and elaborates expert reports on materials. In addition, the company contributes to educating young technical experts - students of Master's and Doctoral programs studying at partner universities in the Czech Republic (CZ) and abroad.

The research organization COMTES FHT was founded in 2000. COMTES FHT has successfully carried out and completed more than 40 R&D projects, including three projects of the EU Framework Programmes. Doseo offers radiotherapy technology research and development resources unrivaled in Europe. Manufacturers, researchers, and clinicians can use our state-of-the art equipment for their own research and work with our expert scientists and technicians on joint R&D projects.

VTT is a broad-scope contributor in international nuclear research. We provide contract services internationally - about 20% of commercial assignments are coming from abroad. VTT is independent and has a solid reputation as the leading Technical Support Organisation of the Finnish nuclear safety authority (STUK) for more than 30 years.

The VTT Centre for Nuclear Safety facility executes a wide range of research and testing activities on materials utilized in nuclear power plants and spent fuel final repository systems, particularly activities involving radioactive substances.A portfolio of standardized and accredited methods as well as sophisticated tools and techniques are available.Nuclear power plant operators and suppliers can have their materials tested for mechanical and chemical performance, and analysed for compositional and microstructural characteristics, both in the new, unused condition, as well as after operation in the plant environment or after accelerated aging or radiation exposures.
