Call for proposals for 3Rs on Animal Testing by the European Partnership for Alternative Approaches
The European Commission has announced that EPAA's (European Partnership for Alternative Approaches) call to Animal Testing's 2020 3Rs Science Prize is now open for applications. The EPAA aims to promote the development, validation, and acceptance of 3Rs alternative approaches looking at the replacement, reduction, and refinement of testing on animals in scientific studies. The goal of the project is to promote positive contributions from industry or academia and encourage more scientists to focus their research on the 3Rs goals (replacement, reduction and refinement of testing on animals). The 3Rs science prize is granted every two years to a scientist with an outstanding contribution to 3Rs and in the year 2020, there is a prize of €10 000 on the table. Scientists working on relevant methods for regulatory testing (e.g. safety, efficacy, batch testing) providing an outstanding contribution to the use of the 3Rs may apply for the prize. The application is submitted via email until October 5th.
