On March 1st, 2nd and 3rd, the World Sustainable Energy Days conferences were organized by the CleanTech Cluster of Upper-Austria, partners in REINA PLUS project. The Basque Energy Cluster attend the event to support their partners and gain knowledge from CTC’s experience preparing these huge events. The conferences were focused on biomass, energy efficiency and e-mobility sectors, which were of great interest for the attendees. The international presence, from almost all the target markets of REINA PLUS project and beyond, was extensive and their presentations remarkable.

The World Sustainable Energy Days (WSED), one of Europe’s largest annual conferences in this field, offered a unique combination of events on sustainable energy. The 2017 conference attracted around 700 participants from 59 countries.

The first two days of the WSED were focused on biomass and energy efficiency sector, where the internationalization was significant among the speakers during the conference. Almost all the target markets’ countries of REINA PLUS project were represented in the discussion panel. Companies and entities from different countries and regions explained their vision in the biomass sector, presented their products and expound their problems and solutions for this important sector in Austria. Speakers from Canada, USA, Chile, Mexico and Tunisia represented the international group (if we only focus on the target market of REINA PLUS) gathered to expose their issues regarding biomass sector.

Each exhibition treated the issue from different points of view, focusing on the problems in each country, or the legislation, or the products that they can develop, giving the attendees to the conferences a general scope of the international issues. This way, collaboration with international markets could be achieved to develop solutions and new joint companies could be formed to address the new markets.
