Building R&D cooperation in Portugal

Submitted by Lubos Komarek on 10 March 2018

In November 2017, Nanoprogress, represented by Luboš Komárek and Czech Nanotechnology Industries Association represented by Jiří Kůs were in Portugal with the objective to straighten linkages in R&D sector among these two countries and present the excellent results of the Czech nanotechnology industry. After this visit, in January 2018, Nanoprogress and the University of Aveiro signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on research of unique methodologies and materials to strengthen the mechanical properties of the nanofibrous structures where the beginning of this joint research cooperation is planned for the first half of this year. Nanoprogress already works with two Portuguese cluster organizations - InovCluster (within the project AdPack2 on supporting the SMEs to enter third markets) and Sustainable Habitat Cluster (defining joint challenges and cooperation possibilities) where Sustainable Habitat Cluster was the facilitator of the above mentioned cooperation. The event took place with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lisbon and the Czech Centre in Madrid.
