The fourth edition of the Cycle of Innovation Days with Catalan Clusters generates possible synergies among the attendees, after the meetings held

On the 20th of January, several Catalan clusters met again to celebrate the fourth edition of the Cycle of Innovation Days, promoted by ACCIÓ, in Elisava, the University School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona. These conferences are organized with a double objective: on the one hand, to present different success stories and instruments that allow companies to know first-hand how to improve their R+D+i management and, on the other hand, train their managers in aspects such as intellectual property, patents, the Catalan research ecosystem, potential financing lines or the communication of proposals and projects.

On this occasion, the session aimed to present the agents involved in promoting innovation in the community of Catalonia, in all its variants. In fact, attendees were divided based on 4 fields of action in the ecosystem:

  • Industry, Construction and Environment
  • Fine Chemistry and Pharmacy
  • Food, health and biotechnology
  • ICT, energy and mobility

Once the division had been made, the session started with the presentation of Elisava by Laura Clèries, head of Elisava Research, in a networking day for talented professionals. They explained to us how they work from the institution in fields such as: training they give, projects in which they are immersed at a European (DECSM, Chrome Design, Mafe, dEM&Ts) and national level, collaborations with other entities, ongoing research, scientific dissemination, etc.

Then, shifts of half an hour each were established in which the attendees were rotating through the 4 tables corresponding to the 4 fields of action, to have contact with all the agents of the value chain that could be interesting to create future synergies.

The meetings were composed of several representatives of companies, organizations or technology centers, who were presenting individually the project they were developing or the work undertaken by the entity. The speakers chosen for the day were those who moderated the table and managed the word shifts equitably.

Two meetings were held before the coffee break and then one more meeting, which lasted until the end of the day.

The clusters involved in these conferences were: Clúster de Materials Avançats de CatalunyaFOOD N’ NUTRITION CLUSTER and Habitat Cluster Barcelona,as organizers and the Clúster de Disseny BCDBeauty Cluster BarcelonaClúster de l’Energia Eficient de CatalunyaRAILGRUPINNOVICenfimClúster Moto and Secpho, as collaborators, with the support of ACCIÓ.

Since 2019, the Cycle of Clusters Innovation Days has been present in four meetings, including the Who’s Who in the Innovation Ecosystem: The first on What do we understand by R + D + I? and successful experiences, the second session was related to intellectual property in R&D and the last one on public financing tools for innovation in the company. The conference left to close the cycle will be held in March, with the name of «New models of innovation», so that knowledge of the different clusters and the entire ecosystem that accompanies them will be shared, to disseminate the culture of innovation.
