Submitted by Per Spindler on 03 December 2019

In the spring of 2019 Biopeople once again received GOLD, from the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA). The Gold Label is stamp of approval of the operation of the cluster in terms of structure, management, financing, strategy, objectives and services.

European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA) has re-certified Biopeople according to the EU’s highest quality standard for clusters.

In the spring of 2019 Biopeople received the Cluster Organization Management Excellence Label (Quality Label) GOLD, referred to as GOLD Label. The Gold Label is stamp of approval of the operation of the cluster in terms of structure, management, financing, strategy, objectives and services.

The GOLD Label is the current most objective measure and indicator that guarantees that Biopeople operates with professionalism and in accordance with our strategy to the benefit of Danish companies, researchers and other stakeholders of the Danish life science community. The re-certification documents an excellent and sustainable cluster management of the national cluster partnership for life science.

“In 2013 Biopeople was the first life science cluster to receive the Gold Label. The labelling has secured continued improvement of structures and routines for value creation,” says Per Spindler, Director of Biopeople, and continues:”This makes us a more attractive collaboration partner in the Life Science community in Denmark and internationally.”

Denmark’s stronghold in life science is in pharma, biotech and medico. The national value chain is characterised by leading private companies, academic preclinical and clinical research, a growing investor community, and European leading health authorities. The national structure of Biopeople is currently ideal for catalysing networks and new collaborations in particular between the private companies and the researchers.

With head secretariat in Copenhagen and employees located in Aarhus and Aalborg, Biopeople has current thematic focuses on personalised medicine, bio imaging, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases and treatments, and ”triple helix” partnerships in the preclinical and clinical space. Biopeople has ongoing programmes in biomarker development and qualified workforce for bio production etc.
