This bulletin aims to outline the main mechanisms and instruments to promote the generation of energy with renewable resources in Mexico, established in specific general laws, in legal reforms to laws and their regulations, as well as in international commitments. It also lists the economic instruments that encourage this mode of production, and the support for research and technological development. In a subsequent contribution, the main financing programs that exist in the country to support the generation of energy with renewable resources will be presented.
