FoodPackLab visiting international events for Sustainable and Smart Packaging

The FoodPackLab consortium member Packaging Cluster as well as 2 of our collaborating clusters, the Danish Knowledge Centre for Food Innovation VIFU and Pack4Food will visit international events for Sustainable and Smart Packaging. Such events are essential to keep on being up to date on the latest trends and recent technologies and to raise awareness about the FoodPackLab internationalization strategy among involved SME’s and R&D Centres. The objective is to extend the FoodPackLab network and to build further strategic partnerships with other organization involved packaging sector.

Next week, there will be the Sustainability In Packaging Europe Conference from 12 to 14 November 2019 in Barcelona. As one of the most important functions of packaging in the decade to 2020 will be increased sustainability, there is a push towards sustainable practices for packaging and a circular economy will be a key influencer, focal point and primary benchmark for the packaging supply chain. This conference will offer brand owners, retailers, packaging converters, manufacturers, suppliers and recyclers, a unique opportunity to network with over 450 attendees from across the sustainability in packaging value chain; to hear from companies who are leading in sustainability; to discover  the solutions to the biggest challenges faced by the packaging supply chain, through truly unique sessions on key topics including design, supply chain management, material innovation, consumer behaviour and recycling and waste management; to extend learnings by attending workshops on global EPR programming and bio-based packaging ahead of the conference; and last but not least to create new business opportunities.

In the following week, there will be the AIPIA World Congress, taking place from 18 to 19 November 2019 in Amsterdam. APIA stands for Active & Intelligent Packaging Industry Association,  which is a very important association in Europe in the field of packaging. This Congress is about the implementation of new technologies in the packaging sector, as it is key to growth, enhanced efficiency and security, reduced waste and to have better control of sales and marketing. It will deal with data mining, shelf life, consumer engagement, brand authentication and recycling opportunities through the implementation of new technologies applied in packaging.
