IMPACT Connected Car (ICCar), coordinated by FundingBox, is happy to announce that both ICCar and FundingBox are supporting partners of the Star Category of the FIA Region I Start-Up Challenge.

On 25 February, FIA Region I launched its first Start-Up Challenge, to connect Mobility Clubs with innovative start-ups.

Mobility Clubs offer a wide range of assistance services, putting members communities at the centre of their preoccupations. They are fully committed to developing the most user-centric value propositions on the market, something that should resonate with start-ups. Start-ups in turn need markets to test their ideas, and can benefit from the expertise of Mobility Clubs and their pool of millions of members.

FIA Region I President, Thomas Møller Thomsen, said: “We are delighted to reach out to start-ups to collect new ideas to invest the digital mobility world. Mobility Clubs want to remain a trusted partner for their loyal members in years to come and help them navigate an increasingly digital world. External talent will be key to make value propositions to customers”.

Start-ups can submit business ideas in the field of “mobility in rural areas”, “home and personal assistance”, “health and elderly assistance”, or any other idea that fits Mobility Club’s identities under a “star category”, sponsored by ICCar and FundingBox. They are invited to do so by 31 May 2019. Entrants need to have at least a proof of concept or a minimum viable product, and have a full-time CEO and CTO or equivalent (i.e. a ‘business’ person and a ‘technology’ person). Throughout 2019 they will benefit from numerous opportunities to pitch their ideas to Clubs’ experts and decision-makers.

THE STAR CATEGORY

The Star Category of the FIA Region I Start-Up Challenge is is an open category for any product or service that resonates with mobility Clubs’ identities.

Clubs are about making people’s lives easier, assisting them wherever and whenever they need, and making them feel part of a community. Many Clubs also want to accelerate their transition from traditional car breakdown assistance, towards a wider focus on mobility, and user-centeredness.
