Industrial Innovation Center Agroalimentario Inaugurated in Colima, Mexico

Derived from the work of the Roadmap Agrologístico and under the collaboration agreement with the Agricultural State Council, the IT cluster participated in the call Prosoft Industry 4.0 of the Ministry of Economy, to enable and equip the Center for Industrial Innovation dedicated exclusively to the food industry in the Central Pacific Region.

With this initiative linking the industry information technology and food industry, the competitiveness of rural producers in the State of Colima will be improved through the use and development of new information technologies based on the Industrial Internet Things or Industry 4.0.

Located at kilometer 14 of the Manzanillo Road - Guadalajara in the city of Los Asmoles, Municipality of Colima, where currently the AgroPark Logistics is built, hence the Center for Industrial Innovation Agroalimentario (CII Agro) is enabled, which on 12 December he started its pre-operational phase.

The CII Agro is part of the first services based on information technologies that provide AgroPark the Agrifood Industry Logistics Center of the Pacific Region. The CII Agro will be operated by the IT cluster Colima.

Industrial Innovation Centers are an initiative of the Federal Government and the National Industry Information Technology to drive the digital transformation of the basis of the states in the country's economic sectors.

Today the Network of Centers of Industrial Innovation has 17 centers located in 12 states of the republic, of which 6 are operated by technology clusters such as IT Cluster Colima. The Innovation Center Network is coordinated by the Ministry of Economy.

In the case of the Center for Industrial Innovation Agroalimentario of Colima, has as its primary purpose to close the technological gap between producers colimense field and raise their competitiveness, giving them a chance to compete for small and large producers in the domestic and international markets, putting the even floor in technology.

It should be noted that the Center for Industrial Innovation is the only national network, which is dedicated to providing solutions Industrial Internet of Things, exclusively for the Agrifood Industry Logistics.

Among agrifood technology-based solutions that provide the CII Agro through certified companies by the cluster they are: crop monitoring, precision agriculture, monitoring remote equipment, irrigation management, mapping plots and resource-based sensors, intelligent logistics and storage, cyber-physical design space, climate monitoring and forecasting, predictive analytics crops, among other solutions based on the Industrial Internet of Things or Industry 4.0.

In the coming weeks the IT cluster together with the Agriculture State Council of Colima convene industrial agricultural, to submit their cases to use in the CII Agro, in order that certified companies by IT cluster present the possible solutions to address the most pressing needs for technologies applied to the field.
