The last 14th and 15th of May BIOTECYL organized, through RTDI and with the support of Innovation Skäne, the Kick-off for the 2nd acceleration of the Cross4Health project and a new marathon of R + D + i projects, in the city of Malmö, Sweden. The objective of the event was to help selected projects to reinforce their innovative approaches and improve their business models to increase the potential for growth.

With the participation of 36 SMEs from 12 different countries, 83 participants, and the presence of regional agencies, hospitals, investors, clusters and experts, the event was tremendously active and the results were very promising.

After the formal opening and presentation of the objectives of the Cross4Health project, funded by the European Commission within the European Framework Program for R & D & I (Horizon 2020), a "demo-pitch" session was held. During this session, participants made presentations of no more than 1 minute on their health innovation projects, followed by a period of time during which they showed their products and made "demos". The objective was also to have enough time to interact productively with other innovators, experts and even potential clients and investors. The "project marathon" was developed the next day, with a session deeply dedicated to the revision of project concepts and its competitive approach, followed by another focused on the innovation of business models through the use of a systematic methodology developed by RTDI, and based on a deep knowledge of market dynamics. Both sessions were given by Eva García Muntión, who has supported around 300 projects in the last 10 years.

In parallel, a 'services' session was developed during which participants were explained the services they could receive during the Cross4Health acceleration program. From supporting the definition of industrial property protection strategies, to the development of specific software components, through market studies, the preparation of business plans and coaching by experts. The final goal of these sessions is for the acceleration program to flow faster and give better results, as a result of the experience acquired by the partners in the framework of similar projects.
